There's nothing that forces them to run as if they were still on PS3. If Sony allows for it, it'll be quite easy for developers to put out patches that allow their PS3 games to run at better settings on PS4. If you played the PS2 version of Shadow of the Colosuss on PS3 then there would still be framerate issues as found if playing on a PS2. Only if Bethesda were to re-develop the game to use the 'banana' as well would it work fps issue free. If you had a PS4 with PS3 backwards compatibility (of course it would anyway) then playing a PS3 game on it will only be using the pieces of hardware inside the system that work with PS3 games.įor example if you had a PS4 which was made up apples and bananas, with apples being the part of it with PS3 B.C, then playing skyrim on it will only utilise the apple because that is what it was originally coded for.
